Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s husband, John Bessler

“I have news that many Americans are facing right now: my husband John has the coronavirus,” the Minnesota senator and former Democratic presidential candidate, 59, wrote in a Medium post. “We just got the test results at 7 a.m. this morning. While I cannot see him and he is of course cut off from all visitors, our daughter Abigail and I are constantly calling and texting and emailing. We love him very much and pray for his recovery. He is exhausted and sick but a very strong and resilient person.”

Klobuchar said Bessler, 52, had pneumonia and was on oxygen “but not a ventilator.”

“John started to feel sick when I was in Minnesota and he was in Washington D.C. and like so many others who have had the disease, he thought it was just a cold,” Klobuchar said. “Yet he immediately quarantined himself just in case and stopped going to his job teaching in Baltimore. He kept having a temperature and a bad, bad cough and when he started coughing up blood he got a test and a chest X-ray and they checked him into a hospital in Virginia because of a variety of things including very low oxygen levels which haven’t really improved.”

‘Game of Thrones’ actor Kristofer Hivju

The man who most know best as “Game of Thrones” character Tormund Giantsbane announced his coronavirus diagnosis in an Instagram post.

Norwegian actor Krisofter Hivju, 41, said he was self-isolating with his family at home “for as long as it takes.”

“We are in good health – I only have mild symptoms of a cold,” Hivju said. “There are people at higher risk for who this virus might be a devastating diagnosis, so I urge all of you to be extremely careful; wash your hands, keep 1.5 meters distance from others, go in quarantine; just do everything you can to stop the virus from spreading. Together we can fight this virus and avert a crisis at our hospitals. Please take care of each other, keep your distance, and stay healthy! Please visit your country’s Center for Disease Control’s website, and follow the regulations for staying safe and protecting not just yourselves, but our entire community, and especially those at risk like the elderly and people with pre-existing conditions.”

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson

Hanks and Wilson, both 63, surprised the world with their coronavirus diagnoses, which came early on in the public awareness of the seriousness of the pandemic. The couple are in Australia, where Hanks was supposed to start work on a film about Elvis. They have been released from the hospital.

“We felt a bit tired like we had colds, and some body aches,” Hanks shared on social media March 11. “Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus and were found to be positive.

Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requirements. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?

We’ll keep the world posted and updated.”

Hanks stayed true to his word, updating fans with a photo of Vegemite on toast that caused many to express concern about just how much Vegemite he was applying to said toast.

“Good News,” Hanks tweeted Tuesday. “One week after testing Positive, in self-isolation, the symptoms are much the same. No fever but the blahs. Folding the laundry and doing the dishes leads to a nap on the couch. Bad news: My wife has won 6 straight hands of Gin Rummy and leads by 201 points. But I have learned not to spread my Vegemite so thick. I traveled here with a typewriter, one I used to love. We are all in this together. Flatten the curve. Hanx.”

Idris Elba

Elba, 47, has been keeping fans updated after sharing his test result on Monday. At the time, he said he had no symptoms.

“Look, this is serious, you know?” he in a video posted to Twitter. “Now is the time to really think about social distancing, washing your hands. Beyond that, there are people out there who aren’t showing symptoms and that can easily spread it, OK? So now’s a real-time to be really vigilant about washing your hands and keeping your distance, OK?”

“Look, we live in a divided world right now,” continued the “Hobbs & Shaw” actor. “We can all feel it, it’s been bullsh*t. But now’s the time for solidarity, now’s the time for thinking about each other. There are so many people whose lives have been affected, from those who have lost people that they love to people that don’t even have it and have lost their livelihoods. This is real.”

Andy Cohen

“After a few days of self-quarantine, and not feeling great, I have tested positive for Coronavirus,” Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” host said in an Instagram post. “As much as I felt like I could push through whatever I was feeling to do #WWHL from home, we’re putting a pin in that for now so I can focus on getting better.”

Cohen, 51, was to have hosted guests on his late-night show via video chat from his New York apartment.

Plácido Domingo

“I feel it is my moral duty to announce to you that I have tested positive for COVID19, the Corona virus,” the opera singer, 79, said in a Facebook post. “My Family and I are all in self isolation for as long as it is deemed medically necessary. Currently we are all in good health but I experienced fever and cough symptoms therefore deciding to get tested and the result came back positive.

“I beg everyone to be extremely careful, follow the basic guidelines by washing your hands frequently, keeping at least a 6 feet distance from others, doing everything you can to stop the virus from spreading and please above all stay home if you can!,” Domingo said in his post. “Together we can fight this virus and stop the current worldwide crisis, so we can hopefully return to our normal daily lives very soon. Please follow your local government’s guidelines and regulations for staying safe and protecting not just yourselves but our entire community.”

Daniel Dae Kim

The actor (“Lost,” “Hawaii Five-O,” “Always Be My Maybe”) believes he came into contact with the coronavirus while filming the NBC series “New Amsterdam” in New York.

“Ironically, I play a doctor who gets recruited to a hospital to help patients during a flu pandemic,” Kim, 51, said in a video posted to his Instagram account, filmed at his home in Hawaii.

After the series stopped production because of the outbreak, Kim returned home. Following the flight home, he noticed some scratchiness in his throat. Later, he developed body aches and a tightness in his chest, so he got tested. Apart from the testing, he had been self-isolating at home. He says he now feels better, though not “100%.”

Kim isolated in a separate room from his family. When they got tested, they found no one else in the family had contracted the coronavirus disease.

“I debated for a long time about actually publicly talking about my diagnosis because I’ve read some backlash against those who did, saying that they got special treatment,” Kim said. “Though I risk that now, let me just say that I never asked for or expected special treatment from anyone. I will add that I believe that healthcare for all is a right, not a privilege. And not just healthcare but quality healthcare. Everyone who meets the qualifications to be tested should be, period, because the virus doesn’t care about race or gender, religion, sexual orientation, whether you’re rich or poor, or your immigration status. Only we seem to care about that.”

Kim also addressed hateful attacks on people of Asian heritage.

“Please, please stop the prejudice and senseless violence against Asian people,” he said. “Randomly beating elderly, sometimes homeless Asian Americans is cowardly, heartbreaking and it’s inexcusable.”

“It cleared up quickly. Seasonal I thought? but it felt unusual/different,” Mazar, 55, shared on Instagram. “Two weeks later, March 15th, I woke up with all those same symptoms but super intense body aches, and 102.4 fever. I figured maybe I got the flu or..Corona? I had had cocktails the evening prior and smoked a few cigarettes. I figured I had jacked my immune system from having a fun night with friends. I called a doctor/friend to ask if I could get the Covid-19 test on 3/16. He said NO, I didn’t meet the criteria. I’ll keep you posted, Love y’all.”
