D-Teflon recently sat down with Julie Hinton Green on the Living in the Now Podcast for a 60 min interview to discuss the latest updates in his career.

A career in the industry that spans well over a decade D-Teflon has appeared in various dance music videos and was featured weekly on the show Electric Circus and as well Dance Nation.

 

 

In the early 90’s, traveling the globe as successful as a professional drummer/ musician and back up dancer and choreographer for music stars such as Robin S, C&C Music Factory and Jordan Knight from New Kids on the block and as had opened for Acts such as N-Sync & 98 degrees.

 

GROWING UP:

 

Growing up in New York City and later when his family relocated to Toronto Canada he spent his time in high school as the all-star athlete set on a fast track to a sure pro career he played semi-pro baseball which he gained a scholarship and one year before he could go to the next phase plans came to a crushing end in 1993 after first getting hit in the face by a fastball that broke his cheekbone causing damage to his vision and then the same year a major career ending injury playing football forced him to walk away from both and give up his dreams of becoming a baseball player.

NIGHTLIFE:

After leaving high school in 1994 with his sports days behind him and being out on his own he decided to revive his dance career but in a different direction so in 1997 full time stepped in to the nightclub industry after a woman by the name of Pilar Cote saw scouted him out in a dance battle and offered him a gig at the club to work as a Go-Go Cage dancer at one of hottest clubs in Toronto Canada RPM Nightclub.

That was his start point in the industry working his way up to club promoter running to security manager then eventually operations manager/co-owner and was a pioneer in the 90’s in the nightlife scene running some of the most successful clubs in Toronto Canada and Daytona Beach Florida USA.

For over a decade from 1993-2008 he started up and ran some of the most popular and successful nightclub hot spots in Toronto Canada Guvernment Nightclub, NRG,Fusion Lounge,Powerbar, Industry Nightclub Pearl Lounge,Light Nightclub,Embassy,The Ballroom,Helium Nightclub, to relocating to Daytona Beach Florida in 2004-2006 to come run one of the biggest clubs in Florida Fuel Complex in Daytona Beach where he was until the club closed in 2006. He returned to Canada to handle the operations at Light Nightclub & then closed out his nightlife career at Embassy Nightclub in 2010 when both clubs were forced to close its doors after being forced out by the city for condo development.

He split his time living between Toronto & Florida & stayed actively involved in the club scene till 2013 before fully leaving the nightclub industry to concentrate full time on film & television & other projects but still from time to time offers consulting services and startup management for new bar & nightclub owners and as well bar rescue for various nightclubs across the country and as well you can catch him from time to time being booked to host various nightclub & charity events as an MC.

BREAKING INTO THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY:

A former talent agent.manger with Christian & Associates Model & Talent Agency with a keen eye for scouting talent he felt his skills weren’t be utilized so he wanted to branch out and decide to go on his own combining his skills in marketing and promotion and as well talent development a longtime fan of professional wrestling thru working the nightlife industry the the WWE attitude era he became friends with a lot of the professional wrestlers that then led him to his dream job working then WWF landed his dream job with the company representing talent from WWE and working on the road setting up exclusive events including being involved in helping put together the biggest show of them all WWE Wrestlemania .

Joining Actra in 1996 and then leaving to join SAG/Actra in 1998 he has been working as an Actor/Producer/Writer D-Teflon has built up over a dozen credits that include television ,commercials & film.

He has appeared on networks such as CTV,FX,CBS,BET,ABC,FOX,MTV and the Spike Network.

 

He booked his first gig a a commercial for a role he landed with no prior acting appearance where he co-starred with The world’s Fastest Man Donovan Bailey which was a promo commercial during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.He followed up booking various commercials for Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Degree Antiperspirant Arid Dry.

In 1998 he officially signed with the I.N Group and started taking acting classes by acting coach David Shark Fralick from the HWFAA and he later and shortly after receiving his SAG Card was coaxed into by Amy in going to an audition reading for a role as a lawyer for an upcoming television sci-fi series.

Some how to his surprise he won over the producers landing and booking his first prime time tv series lead role as the witty & charming ladies man portraying the character of Bad Boy Prosecutor Chris Darden alongside Carrie Ann Moss who starred as Lucinda Scott in the popular Sci-Fi drama prime time TV Show “F/X: The Series.

FX The Series was loosely based on the two F/X feature films stars Cameron Daddo as Rollie Tyler & Christina Cox as Angie Ramirez ,”D-Teflon as Chris Darden,Carrie Ann Moss as Lucinda Scott,Kevin Dobson as Leo McCarthy, Jacqueline Torres as Mira Sanchez Richard Waugh as Marvin VanDuran.

Together, they would use special effects and canny police work to bring down criminals who might otherwise have escaped justice.

D-Teflon made his first big screen appearance in minor roles in Collateral as Kip The Bodyguard, and in Assault on Precinct 13. Since then he has appeared in a dozen Blockbuster Hollywood films and independent and shorts.

He has worked in supporting and lead roles alongside highly regarded actors,including Tom Cruise, Jaime Foxx,Lawrence Fishburne, Robin Williams and Maria Bello Kiefer Sutherland just to name a few.

Since then still growing everyday as an actor he plans to keep developing his craft has appeared on the prime time tv small screen and the big screen over 30 times in supporting guest and lead roles in shows such as Rookie Blue,King,Dan for Mayor,The Border,1800-The Missing,Sue Thomas FBI.

He won for best new Actor  starring as Jason in BloodBath Jason Vs Micheal in the 2012 Terror Film Festival which also won best Horror at the Sarasota Film Festival.

He worked for the company for 4years under contract then with now having built many relationships in the entertainment industry along with his former business partner and wife together they launched creating the brand AEMT under the Alliance Umbrella a professional model management consulting PR Firm who stayed on at the company until 2010 to pursue other ventures.

D-Teflon now starting a model division was the manager and launched the career as his first client for International Film Actress/Swimsuit FHM Supermodel Amrit Dhaliwal. from 2004-2010

Seeing if he still had the eye he moved back to Miami and it was there he discovered 6yrs & launched the career for now-famous internet sensation & social media influencer Model Aylen Alvarez till 2012 before he decided to part ways to work with other models and talent.

He still continues today to guide and mentor and manage exclusive professional models & talent who are hand picked by him such as Models Brandy Starr, Venessa Nieto, Rochelle Gotti, Jacey Marie, Kim Lu & others from the film & television.
